House District 14

Incumbent: Ava Flanell (R) -- filled vacancy by committee vote.

Candidate:  Ava Flanell

Rose Pugliese stepped down for family reasons.    Ava Flanell was voted in to fill the seat through the vacancy committee process.  Her term will extend until  Jan 12, 2027.   She will run again in 2026. She will enter the primary through petition and caucus.   Ava is an impressive young professional.  Her father is known as the "Dragon Man" and runs the ranges out east.  Ava is a strong supporter of 1st and 2nd amendment rights, testifies often, runs two small businesses, has been a solid republican with republican values since she was 18.  She is strong on parent rights, affordability for housing and small business, is pro life, and supports election integrity activities.  Ava has the tenacity to work within the environment of our state capital without sacrificing conservative values.  Her website is:  https://avaforcolorado.com/  Following is Ava's note after being voted into office.

I am deeply honored to have been chosen again to represent you for House District 14. Your trust, encouragement, and prayers mean more to me than I can express, and I am truly humbled by your support.  I, once again, want to recognize and thank Joe Woyte for stepping forward in this process, as well as Troy Vanderhule. I am also grateful to Chairwoman Christine Rea for her steady leadership throughout this process.

The values I shared throughout the campaign remain the foundation of everything I will do at the Capitol. I believe our rights are given by God, not granted by government, and that protecting those rights is the government’s highest calling. I am committed to defending life, safeguarding the Second Amendment, upholding parental rights, and standing firmly for fiscal responsibility through the protection of TABOR. I will also continue to support the brave men and women of law enforcement who work every day to keep our communities safe.

I’ve promised to serve with integrity, to work hard, to build relationships even across disagreement, and to never forget who I represent. You can count on me to be principled, prepared, and courageous in defending your freedoms.

I’m leaving the country for a trip I planned months ago. Upon return, I will schedule a town hall with HD14 constituents and listen to your most important issues. My goal is to represent everyone the best way I can and be your voice at the Capitol.

Thank you again for your confidence and support. I am honored to serve you, and I’m ready to get to work for House District 14.

With sincere gratitude,
Ava Flanell
State Representative, House District 14

Candidate:  Troy Vanderhule

Troy is a local businessman experienced with housing issues.  His top issues (from his website) are to protect families and children, reduce fiscal abuse, election integrity, and supporting 2nd amendment rights.  He will go through caucus to earn the delegate vote to be on the primary ticket.  His website is:  https://troyvanderhule.com/
